Long story short...

Cody Bozarth was born in Quincy, Ill., a Midwestern city on the banks of the Mississippi River with a population of roughly 40,000. After graduating high school there, he followed his love of literature by pursuing a degree in English at Western Illinois University. As a freshman and hungry for extra pocket change, he fell into work writing news stories for the student-run newspaper at $13 a pop. The work interested him, and he eventually took on roles as a columnist, photographer, page designer and news editor at various points throughout his college years.

Degree in hand, Cody pursued his fondness for newspaper work and landed a reporting job in Jacksonville, Ill. For five years he covered the government and politics beats, forging friendly working relationships with local public officials and talking to people of all walks of life — from the wealthy and influential to the poor and destitute.

Cody then moved back to Quincy after being offered a job as a copy editor at his hometown paper. There, he won multiple Illinois Press Association awards for page design. He was promoted to fill a new position to lead production of numerous special sections.

After a decade in the field, he moved to St. Louis for a new position writing product descriptions for RV parts. It was quite a change, but his knack for research and love of crafting a good turn of phase made this creative work an enjoyable challenge.

These days, Cody enjoys spending his free time with his wife, two dogs, and one tough cat. He also enjoys socializing with friends over board games, working on craft projects, cooking delicious food, or cozying up with some knitting and a good film.
